Mario has had extensive experience spanning over two decades in areas of Accounting & Finance, Strategic Planning and General Management in some of the most respected Sri Lankan organisations. His industrial experience spans several industries including Accountancy, Manufacturing, Service, Export Marketing, and Diversified Conglomerates.
After having risen to General Management, within Corporate world, he co-founded a Corporate Training and Management Consulting organisation in May 2004, with a vision to promote a corporate culture of ‘continuous improvement’ among their clients and help such organisations become more than just competitive both within Sri Lanka as well as abroad. Since 2011, he has set up Good 2 Great Consulting with a vision of helping to transform ‘Good’ organisations to being ‘Great’ in their respective industries

Mario is an exceptional resource person with proven capability in three functional areas viz., Finance, Marketing and HR. His diversified corporate exposure at the highest level coupled with his lecturing skills has enabled his to become an effective trainer and consultant.
He’s also been a very successful lecturer in several professional courses such as CIMA and CIM over the years and has also conducts revision courses for overseas CIMA students. He is currently, part of the visiting faculty of five  (5) different tertiary level educational institutions offering MBA programmes including  the PIM (University of Sri Jayawardanepura), ACBT (Edith Cowan University, Australia), University of Moratuwa, Western College of Management & Technology (University of Bolton, UK) and the Auston Institute (University of Coventry, UK).

Mario has conducted numerous corporate training programmes for some of the top corporate entities in Sri Lanka on numerous topics due to his multi-disciplinary nature and varied corporate experience. Since 2004 he has trained over 10,000 delegates both within Sri Lanka as well as overseas. His overseas training assignments have included countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Maldives, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.
Upon completing his MBA, his area of interest shifted to more towards HR, and organisational behaviour with a special emphasis on psychometric testing and human personality. His research interests include team working and team behaviour as well as how the human psyche and motivation affects different organisational situations. He also has a keen interest in the area of change management and strategic management and continues to consult different organisations on these important areas, of how to successfully manage organisational change initiatives.
He is currently reading for his PhD at the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) and his area of research interest in Human Personality. He is a Fellow member of both the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) UK, and the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA), Sri Lanka. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), UK. In addition he also received an MBA from PIM, University of Sri Jayewardenepura with a Merit (where he was also the batch top of the MBA 1999 batch). He is also a Certified Psychometrician of the British Psychological Society.
